Replica of a Music Box Center Piece

Matching up this center piece was very exciting for me; it really took me back in time.  Back when everything was made by hand.  The company that made these wind up music boxes they made half of them with the center piece and half without.  The customer was able to get me an existing center piece, so that he could have me make one for his wind up music box.

A Replica of a Center Piece for a 150 year old Wind up Music Box

This carving was a nice blend of scrolls and acanthus leaves, with a center shell top.  It took me approximately 34 hours to carve this center piece. There is a radius on the back and front, which has to line up exactly in order to fit.  My next step is to stain and finish the carving

and then have it shipped to the customer.
