"Cartoon Marquetry"
This was a very fun Project. Both pictures were cut
on a scroll saw at the same time. Using a method named after Andre
Charles Boulle. Boulle mixed wood and metals cut at the same time. This
would allow for the cabinet maker to mix up the different woods and
metals. This way one could create two or three different finished pieces
of marquetry. My two cartoon panels are made out of 9 different pieces
of veneer 8 1/2" wide x 12" long.
